Pretty accurate calculation. I drove for uBer but primarily during surge or event periods otherwise not worth the while. Driving in the city if it’s very busy and your driving 10 hours with some surge periods would increase that hourly rate substantially.

I know at 40 hours a week you can make way more than you do working at someone else’s job and you get a tax return at the end of the year. So I would have to disagree. Uber is only to be used temporarily for someone to make ends meet giving a ride to someone while on your way to or from your real job. You're driving there anyway, so might as well make a little cash doing it. Other than that, is is not worth it and that is why I went back to driving trucks over the road again.

As an ex Uber driver, I noticed they actually make 50% of the fare, not 25%.... Best business to start though, they create an app and then all of us idiots destroy our cars and THEY reap the rewards! They are smart thieves......

Yes I have only been working for Uber for a short amount of time and u are right I don’t even make minimum wage but I all so drive for Lyft and the are worst I get more tips with Uber . And less complaints for my passenge . My lyft costumers like to complain that my car is dirty I have unlimited car wash and take it in 2 times a week . And I basically only use my car for work . Yes I think I should start look for another job . Thank for the video and running that down for me . I keep seeing these video that these drives won’t take a job inless one to two dollars a mile I never made 1 dollar a mile in Fresno ca. you can not wait to get one for a dollar or more a mile I made 38 for 50.00 miles so actually it payed 38.00 for 100.00 miles did get anything on the way home .

I thought i was going to die at work as all i had to look forward to SSI. Well i became homless and being a veteran i found a VA homeless shelter. Due to being homeless i went to the head of the line of the dissability line. Long story short i got 100% disability. Living now in a very nice apartment and now retired. Uber is the worst. The thing that she conveniently failed to mention, is that you get a huge tax deduction on your mileage. In 2022, the mileage deduction was $.63 per mile. You get paid upfront, and you don’t have to pay taxes until the end of the year. With that huge deduction, I only ended up paying $600 in taxes.
